“We’re living in a golden age of string quartets … [and] it’s hard to disagree when you hear the vibrant young players in New York’s Attacca Quartet.”

Two-time Grammy Award-winning Attacca Quartet are recognized and acclaimed as one of the most versatile and outstanding ensembles of the moment, gliding through traditional classical repertoire to electronica, video game music, and contemporary collaborations. Formed at The Juilliard School, they have become one of the world’s most innovative and respected ensembles with performances at leading concert halls and festivals around the world. They come to the Armory with a wide-ranging program of classic quartets by Bartók and Felix Mendelssohn, quartet-arranged interpretations of signal works for other instrumentation, and the North American premiere of “Daisy”—an Armory-commissioned new composition by David Lang.
Program to include works by Chopin, Bartók, Felix Mendelssohn, and David Lang
The Recital Series is supported in part by the Howard & Sarah D. Solomon Foundation.
Public support is provided by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature as well as the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council under the leadership of Speaker Adrienne Adams.
