Manager of Institutional Giving

Part American palace, part industrial shed, Park Avenue Armory is dedicated to supporting unconventional works in the visual and performing arts that need non-traditional spaces for their full realization, enabling artists to create and audiences to experience epic and adventurous presentations that cannot be mounted elsewhere in New York City.

The Manager of Institutional Giving will report to the Director of Institutional Giving and work closely with the Chief Development Officer and the entire Development Department. The role will primarily manage the Armory’s corporate portfolio while assisting with other institutional giving (foundation, government) fundraising priorities as needed.

Season and Program Sponsor Stewardship: Manage the Armory’s Season and Program Sponsorships, including benefits fulfillment, employee engagement, monthly communications, invitations, ticketing, marketing activations, and event planning. Field requests from employees and partners on a regular basis. Participate in renewal process and new contract development; track and report on all partnership deliverables. Issue invoices and acknowledgments as necessary. Inform contacts on key institutional and program news.
Grants Management: Assist with writing and editing of proposals, reports, acknowledgment letters, and other communications, focusing on a core portfolio of general operating supporters (in the $5k - $50k range). Take a lead role on proposals and reporting with government funders at the city, state, and federal level.
New Partnership Development/Research: Help identify and research funding opportunities for artistic programs, education, benefit events, patron programs, and capital gifts. Assist in meetings with potential donors, prepare proposals, grants, corporate membership, and in-kind support.
Corporate Membership Program: Oversee and grow the developing Corporate Membership Program. Implement benefits, including member events, private events, concierge ticketing, and building tours.
Other Development Support: Other support and event staffing as needed, assisting with development events and donor experience for programs as needed.

This position requires a minimum of two years of experience in fundraising, preferably in corporate sponsorship for a cultural organization. Event experience is a plus. Candidates should be self-starters with an entrepreneurial spirit and skills in developing cultivation strategies, and presentation materials. Candidates should be able to operate well in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. The role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent administrative and organizational skills; strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, and Excel are required). Knowledge of Tessitura or similar database is a plus.

Salary range is commensurate with experience.
