General Manager

Part American palace, part industrial shed, Park Avenue Armory is dedicated to supporting unconventional works in the visual and performing arts that need non-traditional spaces for their full realization, enabling artists to create and audiences to experience epic and adventurous presentations that cannot be mounted elsewhere in New York City.

• Establish contract templates
• Process all contracts
• Prepare and negotiate contracts for all Drill Hall productions including all artists, stage managers, and other production personnel.
• Negotiate royalties and production licenses for each Drill Hall production that the Armory produces and presents.
• Oversee and sign off on all recital and artist studio contracts.
• Work with Armory President & Executive Producer and Armory legal advisors on matters pertaining to contracts and work rules.

• Assist in the development of programming budgets
• Maintain and track a variety of complex budgets that contribute to the fiscal health of the Armory.
• Manage the tracking and reporting of the programming and production budgets.
• Report budget updates to the Executive Producer and Producing Director

Tracking & Scheduling:
• Determine key milestones in commission projects regarding contracting, pre-production and production needs, marketing, press, and box office.
• Create and maintain programming calendar

At least 5 to 10 years of experience as a general manager of theatrical productions. Must be familiar with Actors Equity Association contracts and management. Strong interpersonal skills and proven grace and finesse dealing with artist’s issues. A hard-working, multi-tasking team player who wants to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
